Better Technology for Institutional Advancement

Alumni relations and fundraising go together. They work with the same primary constituency and they serve the same purpose of supporting the educational institution. Thanks to a question from a colleague, I decided it was time to incorporate that on the Impactrics website by creating a new resource on fundraising – an extensive list of software platforms for fundraising and CRMs. If you are in the market for new and better IT, check it out and let me know if it was helpful.

And for alumni relations there is good news in technology as well. Remember that “What can be measured can be managed” is important in alumni relations as much as for corporate entities. The challenge in alumni relations is figuring out what to measure – and how to measure it. Technology is helping to address both questions with software platforms that facilitate everything from mentoring to volunteer engagement to event attendance.
